Tours and Trails - Walking Tours
With its pedestrianised areas, tucked-away lanes and gated roads, Oxford's compact city centre is best explored on foot.
Walking tours of the city centre, conducted by the Guild of Guides, leave the Tourist Information Centre
in Gloucester Green daily. Tours last 2 hours and include admission to colleges open to guides on that particular day. Tickets are available from the
Information Centre (or direct from the guide outside if the centre is closed). Numbers are limited to 19 people per tour and tickets are sold on a 'first come,
first served' basis. Tours run daily at 11.00 and 14.00 from the Information Centre. Additional tours leave the centre during busy periods, subject to demand.
Cost: adults £6.00, children under 16 £3.00. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
In addition, there are two tours that leave the Tourist Information Centre on Saturdays
at 11.00 and 14.00. This tour includes admission to Christ Church.
Cost: adults £7.00 and children under 16 £3.50.
Inspector Morse Walking Tours, following in the footsteps of Oxford's most famous
television detective, leave the Information Centre at 13.30 on Saturdays for a limited period. They are very popular so it is advisable to book in advance. Please contact the
