Darkes Lane, Potter's Bar
Opened in 1990, the Museum is managed and run by volunteers who are members of Potters Bar and District Historical Society.

Situated opposite the timber-framed building of what remains of the medieval manor of Wyllyotts, the displays interpret the long history of Potters Bar and its district. Artefacts from archaeological excavations in the area are on display, including medieval finds from Wyllyotts Manor itself, South Mimms motte-and-bailey castle and finds from a Roman tile kiln. Evidence of the earliest known inhabitants are shown by the stone tools they made.

The more recent history of Potters Bar is told through objects and photographs showing the trade and domestic life of a village which has developed into a busy and expanding town on the M25.

Specialist collections include telephones dating from the early part of the 20th century to the present day. Parts of the L31 Zeppelin airship that crashed in Potters Bar in 1916 are also on view.
