Season tickets or casual use 'lake passes' can be purchased and the centre also offers day group activities such as for birthday parties.
Paths
A bridleway runs along the northern boundary and there is a path around the lake that offers views of the site and the surrounding countryside.
Wildlife
Site surveys in recent years have confirmed that the site is home to a wide variety of birds, including winter visitors and breeding birds. There are a range of habitats at Horseshoe Lake including:

- · rough grassland
- · patches of developing scrub
- This combination of habitats supports a variety of invertebrates including grasshoppers and crickets and a number of different species of dragonflies and butterflies.
