Budleigh Salterton
Return East Devon

Budleigh Salterton has three miles of stunning, unspoilt beachline, with sandstone cliffs at one end and the mouth of the River Otter at the other. It, like so many of the coastal towns in East Devon, remains largely unspoilt as a tourist seaside destination. Indeed residents have made sure that at all times, the town centre places a special emphasis on heritage conservation. This has helped to protect it from the ravages of commercialism.

For much of it's three miles of pebbled beach, you can enjoy the panoramic sea views from the comfort of the many benches along the wide esplanade. To its western end, is a sandstone hill, which you can walk or drive up to enjoy the unsurpassed views of the town and the sea.

Budleigh Salterton town centre is delightful. It has a good variety of shops, a centrally located tourist information centre, a beautiful and accessible museum and a small stream running the length of Fore Street.
