Your good neighbourhood booklet, devised by Axminster Care Service, a self-help group, which functions, and is administered, purely by volunteers.

The aim of the service is to cover gaps left by Health and Social Services:

  • Visiting - lonely, housebound.
Tuesday Lunch Club for elderly housebound.
    Emergency Car Service.
Running Charity Togs Shop, which helps fund the Care Service.
Managing Senior Citizens Centre in Church Street.
  • Should you wish to use the service, the office, at Charity Togs, South Street, is manned from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. Monday to Friday. Messages can also be left on the answerphone 0129735550 at other times. Transport is not normally available if the Hospital Car Service can be used.
  • Chairman, Dr. J. Vann; Co-ordinator, Mrs. E. Measures; Secretary, Mrs. J. Davies; Shop Manager, Treasurer, Mr. G. Liewelyn, Chemist, to whom donations for the service should be given.

Volunteers always needed, apply Mrs. Measures, Axminster 33699.

Axminster Care Service is a registered Charity - Charity No.900144
