Torre Abbey is Torquay's oldest building, situated in a beautiful setting including a chapel, monastry, ruins and gardens. It houses a superb collection of paintings and antiques, furnished period rooms, collections of silver, glass and boasts the Agatha Christie Memorial Room, containing Remmington typewriter; original manuscripts, literary awards, original theatre programmes and many books and various family mementos. The nearby Spanish Barn held 300 Spanish prisoners after the failed Armada in 1588. Opening Times: Open daily from Easter to 1st November. 9.30am - 6.00pm. Last admissions 5.00pm. Allow up to 3 hours for your visit.
