Travel at the speed of a light railway
When you travel on the Leighton Buzzard Railway, you take a 65 minute journey into the vanished world of the English light railway. With its sharp curves, its
steep gradients, its level crossings, and its unique roadside running, this is a line that takes you back to a more relaxed age of transport. Built in 1919 to serve the local sand industry, it has
carried a steam passenger service since 1968.
We also have the largest collection of narrow guage locomotives in Britain. An added attraction this year is Beaudesert, our brand new diesel
locomotive.
At Pages Park station you will find Dobbers' Buffet - with its unique display of historic sand quarrying scenes.
