Ordnance Survey names this village Mogerhanger, the Post Office calls it Moggerhanger. It is 3 miles west of Sandy about 7 miles from both Biggleswade and Bedford. There is a
Lower School, Post Office/general store and playing field in the village and a mobile library visits fortnightly. It is served by a regular bus service to local towns.
The area is agricultural apart from a fertiliser factory at South Mills. Residents formerly nearly all worked on the land but many now commute to Bedford and other local
centres. Housing is mainly centred around the Church and southern end of the village, with most new development which has taken place since the war to the south of the Church
and at Chalton.
The Church was built in 1861. There is also a Methodist Church which was built between the wars.
Mogerhanger House, now Park Hospital, was built about 1880.
